Explain your yoga style

Vinyasa yoga is meditation in motion. The dynamic sequence of poses can be challenging and are linked to the breath. Through mindful breathing, we can connect to the present moment. Only when the mind gets silent the soul can begin to speak.

Your teaching style

Expect to sweat, stretch, and strengthen your body. My classes will leave you refreshed, recharged, and relaxed. Classes incorporate the practice of asana (postures), meditation, pranayama (breathing techniques) while giving students opportunities for self-inquiry. I also encourage students to move with their breath and try to weave in elements of yoga philosophy. I also don’t take myself too seriously, so we may share a giggle or two.

Why do you teach yoga

I studied Tourism Management and worked in the corporate world where I experienced long and stressful working hours and fierce competition in the market place. It was unsatisfying, stressful and unhealthy. I felt the need to change my career to a more meaningful one that allows me to use my potential and share with other people my passion that is yoga and its benefits. Some mental and physical benefits of yoga are balance, strength, courage, satisfaction, as well as trusting inner self and power. I ended up swapping my office desk with my yoga mat and never looked back.

Best yoga moment

An outdoor yoga session I had in Mui Ne, Vietnam with views of the jungle and one cow munching pleasurably grass directly in front of us. Scenic and hilarious at the same time.

Most memorable holiday

My very first sailing trip in Italy with friends. We had to deal with a few problems on board such as a broken engine, a dysfunctional sail and a sick captain. Apart from that it was raining heavily and the the sea was rough. The team spirit was incredible. An unforgettable experience.

Favourite book

The boy with the cuckoo-clock heart by Mathias Malzieu, a magical literary fairytale about love.

Best light-bulb moment

When I realized after a week of intense and challenging yoga training both on a physical and mental level that I was strong enough not only to face whatever life throws at me but also to step up and show myself to the world. No need to play small.

Your happiest moment

I could not tell. I have experienced lots and lots of happy moments in my life.

Wish for anything – what would it be?

Although it is a classic I would wish for peace…peace starts within each one of us. When you have peace within, real peace with others will be possible.
